If I was making a cake for my 8 year old self this would be it. That’s all I have to say about it. LOVE.

Down the Rabbit Hole!
Look Whooo is One
It had to happen. My baby turned one. It was both exciting and sad at the same time. We had an owl theme, because I have a total owl crush right now. We had a fabulous time celebrating with our friends and family. Here’s photos of everything!
The birthday cake:
The cupcake tower:
The invitation and the cookie favours for all of our guests:
The smash cake.
Fruit skewers for the table:
mmmm. Cake pops.
Water bottles. The wrappers were so cute.
And here is the star of the show. She loved the tutu.
I can’t believe a year has gone by already. It has been a truly incredible experience. My heart is so filled with love. Happy Birthday baby girl. Mama loves you.

C is for Cookie…
This is a party I did for my nephew Jack’s first birthday party. It was Cookie Monster themed. I wish I could take credit for the super cute design of the cupcakes, but I found it online. The eyes are fondant, and I made the chocolate chip cookies. In fact, I made A LOT of chocolate chip cookies for this. It was a painful experience for my husband whose first love is chocolate chip cookies… a kitchen, every surface covered in cookies, that he couldn’t eat. In addition to the cupcakes, I baked some on popsicle sticks for a cookie jar, and made packs of cookies to send home with all the guests.
This is what the party looked like! The tissue pom poms were a hit (Thank you to Martha Stewart crafts for the tutorial).
This is the smash cake I made for the little man. It wasn’t overly fancy, but it did the trick, and after all, it is a smash cake. He looked a little confused when my sister put the whole thing down on his high chair tray. I thought he might destroy it, but he kind of gently pulled a few handfuls off and ate them. Still, it was very cute to watch.
And here’s the sweet birthday boy sporting his new haircut in his Cookie Monster t-shirt his mamma got for him. What a cutie.
