Fairy/Unicorn 5th Birthday Celebration
It’s catch up day here in the Sweet Dreams Bakeshop blog… well at least of the images I managed to unload from my camera. This fairy /unicorn theme party was for a 5 year old. Mama wanted unicorn, and daughter wanted fairy. We compromised and came up with this custom theme party.
Bride and Groom Cake Pops
These super sweet bride and groom cake pops were given to guests as wedding favours. Becasue I often like to make my busy life more complex than it needs to be, I thought, wouldn’t it be great to put little pearl necklaces on the brides…. Ouch, carpel tunnel from operating tweezers after 100 of those! Even still, I think it was worth the extra effort. Congratulations on your wedding Arlet!

There’s no place like HOME for the holidays.
These cookie bouquets were made for Saskatoon HOME magazine. The new issue is out, read it here. The large bouquet had cookies and cake pops sprinkled with candy cane. The smaller bouquets were all packaged in a cute Christmas mug.

Choc’laCure Cake Pops
These cake pops were ordered for the Choc’laCure event. They were triple chocolate. Yes, I had to make extras of these, for quality assurance purposes of course.

It (was) Small Business week
Well, if one was current at blogging, you would have known Bank of Montreal was celebrating Small Business Week with delicious treats. Also, if one wasn’t so busy she might have remembered to photograph the BMO logo cupcakes that were part of this order as well. Sorry, you’ll just have to imagine them. They were cute.

A Sweet Monkey Turns Two
My sweet little niece, Kaylee, turned two last weekend. She’s way too cute. (There’s a pic if you scroll down of her munching a cookie). As part of her gift we gave her a big monkey floor pillow. What we didn’t know when we got it for her is that she hated it when she saw it at the store. She hit it in the face and said, “no!”. Hilarious. We didn’t know this had happened when we got it for her. Deciding to give it to her anyway, we were anticipating her reaction when she opened it. She didn’t hate it, but she didn’t love it either. It basically got a stare down from a few feet away. A week later, and she’s warming up to it, I guess. To celebrate miss Kaylee there was a big extravaganza… All kinds of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, cake pops (I even made these ones banana flavoured), candy, dips… and vegetables. It was a great time. Fortunately the weather cooperated and all the kids got to play outside.
I’m very much looking forward to this next year with Kaylee. She’s really starting to talk a lot more now, and I know it’s such a fun stage when you get to hear all the new words and cute sayings! Much love Kaylee!!!
Metric Design Centre Grand Opening Party
A ticket to the Metric Design Centre grand opening was the hottest ticket in town to have last weekend. Owner and designer, Tamara hosted the most fabulous party at her store on Friday evening. Complete with red carpet, photo booth, a fancy chef cooking in the showroom kitchen, a DJ, and wait for it….. cookies and cake pops. I made over 200 cookies and 200 cake pops for this event. Whew. It was busy. If you want to see photos from the event, check out Metric’s facebook page.
I am still dealing with losing my hard drive…. so I’ll be doing a couple of posts tonight. It’s been a couple of very busy weeks around here! Lots of fun stuff to show you.

Look Whooo is One
It had to happen. My baby turned one. It was both exciting and sad at the same time. We had an owl theme, because I have a total owl crush right now. We had a fabulous time celebrating with our friends and family. Here’s photos of everything!
The birthday cake:
The cupcake tower:
The invitation and the cookie favours for all of our guests:
The smash cake.
Fruit skewers for the table:
mmmm. Cake pops.
Water bottles. The wrappers were so cute.
And here is the star of the show. She loved the tutu.
I can’t believe a year has gone by already. It has been a truly incredible experience. My heart is so filled with love. Happy Birthday baby girl. Mama loves you.
